[Transmission] Selector rod fallen off idler
#1
Hi,

My gear selector rod has fallen of the selector idler.

What parts do I need to replace to get it up and running again and is it an easy enough job to do?

Here is a photo:

Thanks for any help.

I think this missing linkage might have something to do with it. LOL

First thing I have done is order a new rod as I know I will need one of them as a minimum:

I replaced one similar on my niece's Saxo, like a dumbell. The old one had plastic inserts in the ends and the new one was metal, much firmer. It was easy enough just a click off, click on with a bit of grease to ease the process. The new one for the Saxo only cost about £10 from the main dealer.
So where does this bit go then ?

All the motor factors in the area said only the main dealer sells them and they quoted me £17 + VAT.

I found the same part number available for £13 inc VAT and P&P from the site above so will see how I get on when that arrives.

Plenty on ebay , even sell full kit.

I believe it quite a common problem

Arrived this morning. Fitted in seconds leaning over the engine in the rain. Sorted. Wink
