Door Speakers - Mounting Details
#1
This is from the perspective of having no hole in the door trim panel, but wiring in place for a speaker in the door.

There are four oblong slots to accept those plastic screw anchors. However, if I mock up a 165mm speaker against the recess, it has no hope of fitting. The trim panel has a round hole clearly marked, and four "legs" which align with the oblong holes in the door pressing.

If one fits the extended door pocket with speaker surround, does this screw to the door in four spots and then the speaker screws to this trim? If abybody could indulge with a snapshot partially dismantled, it's be great.

Thanks, Adam.

"I did it my way." Big Grin

Door sounds cost about £35/pair with free speakers from a donor Xantia. The money went on two adaptor plugs, extra long stainless screws to mount, carpeted MDF spacers, surplus stock Alpine grilles.

Hi,
When you removed the door panels, was the speaker wiring already in place or did you have to run it yourself?

On mine it was already there, along with plugs for central locking and electric mirror with heated glass. My RPO is 8500.
