Just wondering what your thoughts are regarding engine choice, heres my thoughts but please correct me if i'm wrong
1.9 very good but painfully slow
2.0 hdi good allrounder
1.6 hdi good but troublsome?

2.0 HDi every time.
1.6 HDi isn't that bad. It has a weakness with the oil pick up, but bearing in mind how many there are it's not that many have gone bang.

According to the statistics I read before buying the 2.0hdi is slightly more economical on fuel than the 1.6hdi but we bought one because there are more of them, I would happily have had either.
So where does this bit go then ?

Agree with Lighty, 1.6 HDi everytime.

I would recommend the 2.0 HDi but i cant comment on the 1.6 HDi, personally i dont find the clutch heavy at all although i have driven newer vehicles with hydraulic clutch and i personally think they are too light and much prefer a bit of resistance
