Newbie Is this normal?

Hi just joined the forum. Father in law gave us a 2002 Berlingo Multispace Forte 1.6. Within a week the emmisions lights came on and now battery won't charge. Thanks Dad.

Sounds like the alternator or a duff battery get the battery checked out first.
You may well get spurious fault messages if you have low battery voltage.
