Hey guys,
I know that the holes in the rear aren't big enough for the magnets on uprated speakers - but I think I heard that you can cheat this by using longer torx screws? Just wondering if anyone could confirm it and post a link as to where to get some
Cheers!
J

You can get long screws anywhere, it doesn't matter what heads they have as long as the threads are correct.
So where does this bit go then ?

Yes, it was I who changed mine and used longer screws.
As suggested I just found some longer slotted head screws that matched the thread of the older ones.
It's a tight squeeze and you may have to fiddle with how you tilt them, but mine went in OK.

Or you could always try to get a set of JBL speakers from a Peugeot 406 Executive estate.
I had a really nice set of Alpines in the back of my 406 & the magnet size prevents me from being able to fit them in the Partner, but the Partner/Berlingo rear speakers are identical to the standard ones that I had in the 406 estate. I know from experience that the JBL upgrade speakers are a good quality & if you're feeling flush, they are only £20 each from a main dealer for brand new ones.

2000/W BMW 530D SE Auto 84k to
2003/03 Peugeot Partner Escapade 95k
Standard so far

I have same problem with some vibe speakers, if i used longer screws would that mean the speaker cover would no longer fit flush and have a gap around the edge.

If I didn't already have my alpine's I'd be searching on ebay now for some JBL's! Good tip for anyone in future that tho.
