Temperature Display

As designed I assume, by some lunatic nanny Frenchman, the temperature display in my 09 XTR flashes when the temp drops to 3DegC or below.

Is there any way beyond switching the display to 'dark' or resorting to covering it with tape to get rid of this really annoying flashing temperature display that I seem to constantly see out of the corner of my left eye.

PS -I can't afford to move to where the temp does not ever drop below 3DegC.

A cheaper option than moving house how about an eye patch or tape on the left lens on glasses.

Mine stops flashing at -4 and lower. You just need to move to a place with a proper winter

Just in case you might forget the display will also inform you of 'risk of ice'....cratch:

Easy! Just stand your beer in front of the display!!:woop::whistle:

Today, I went out and had a play with the display settings.
If you go into the menu, and scroll to "display" - then to "temperature"
Change the setting to "fahrenheit" then press "OK"
The setting will be changed.
Won't stop the flashing but you do feel alot warmer at 32deg F and below!!!!

Put an in-car DVD player screen on the dash.
If you pick a good title you wont notice the frost warning.

The sensor is in the door mirror. Move it to somewhere inside the car so you still see the correct temperature when you start off but it'll warm up with the interior of the car.

The downside is that if you turn on your A/C in the summer you'll get the ICE WARNING instead!!!!:lol:
