[Warning Light] coolant

Hello!

I own a mk2 1996 1.6Hdi berlingo multispace. this week the coolant lamp lit on the dodgeboard. I opened the coolant reservour and was empty. I filled it and the lamp went off. The problem is I could nt find where the coolant is going? Another problem is regarding the engine oil. On the dodgeboard its marking full but the dipstick has minimal oil on it when engine is cold.

Any help pls?

hi kevin,

first take no notice of the off check light on the dash they do lie badly so get it on a level surface and dip it and take that as a true level.

If you cant see where the coolant is leaking it could well be the water pump which is located in the timing belt housing. But it could be leaking out anywere to be honest you really need to get the cooling system pressure tested, any good local garage could do this for you.
