Key fob programming help
#21
Just a thought ffrenchie but does the key look like a genuine citroen key. It could be that the last owner lost a key and got a spare cut just to get in the car but never got it programmed to the car.
Are we there yet????? Huh

The key is genuine and I think it's original. I took it to a garage and they said there is a chip in but it needs programming and I just wondered if there's a way to do it like my old car by a sequence of button presses but it looks like I need to get it done via Lexia. Thanks all.
So where does this bit go then ?

Try an auto locksmith in your area they should be able to program it for you and as you can drive the car to them it shouldn't cost to much no call out charge.

Hi bringing up an old post so sorry for that, just bought a second hand berlingo 54 plate and the key fob is wrapped in tape and no buttons so i took it apart and micro switches seem to work but it wont lock or unlock the car. I have tried the procedure to sync but nothing i bought a new battery and tried again still nothing. The spare key that came with it unlocks the doors but wont turn the ignition which is odd. Any clues whats going on?

I guess the ignition barrel died and and they bought a used barrel and key, which doesn't match your BSI module. The one that unlocks the doors but doesn't fit the ignition will be original. Put the circuit board from that one, with the blade from the first one you mentioned, moving the little immo chip block with the blade if there is one in the key shell.

Combine good case, blade and chip that starts the car with circuit board that unlocks the doors. Make one good key out of both.

Hi
Sorry to hijack the Post. Friend of mine bought an 06 Desire Multispace ,it was a private sale and only one key was present at the sale. The key in question is the spare key, think it might have a chip as they're is a mark on one corner of the key.
Is their anyway for him to buy a Blip key for opening and closing the doors and perhaps having the blade cut to use to start the car
Thanks

Hi Ian, he can probably find an auto locksmith who can cut and program a new key to the car but you can't match a used key plip board or immo chip from another car to his car, as far as I'm aware. Any additional key programmed to unlock the doors and start the engine will have to be brand new and matched to the BSI / immobiliser by Lexia or similar.

Thanks for the reply, looks like it’s going to be a visit to Citroen when they reopen.
