Key fob programming help
#1
I've recently bought a spare key for an '05 multispace but the remote central locking doesn't work with it.

I've read around and there's a few guides on how to program it to work but no matter what I try the new key just won't bind. All instructions I've found say you need to repeat the steps for each fob but I've deliberately not done the steps for the old fob and it still works so I'm guessing it's not even going into programming mode.

Any ideas on exactly what the correct procedure should be? Or can this only be done with a lexia 3?

My remote key didn't seem to work, when I opened it up the microswitch had come off. New one bought for £1.50 and soldered on in seconds and all working properly now!!

Similar (I think) problem for me. New key fob, put existing transponder inside, remote lock/unlock works but engine won't start. Hopefully now I've posted I can download the above instructions...

Thectransponder is probably too far away from the sensor.

Have you tried removing transponder placing next to sensor and then trying to start the car,?

Fixed - problem mainly due to me being an idiot. I'd transferred a new key to the new fob, plus the original circuit board. What I hadn't swapped was the little black transponder from the corner. Once I swapped that too everything then worked.

Ta for the advice though!

Hi sorry to drag up an old post but i need to post a reply to download the document, i recently bought a second hand key fob from ebay for my berlingo, i swapped the back over and it starts but cant get the fob to program to the car, the circuit board inside does look different to the old one, will the different type still be compatible?
