MK3 Parts shortage (Japan)
#1
I was just over on berlingo.org and read a link, shortage, that says PSA production is curtailed from between 20-60% (model dependent) due to the catastrophe in Japan. No way to get parts made or exported. Opel in Germany has gone from three shifts a day down to one shift for same reasons.

I just ordered a couple of fuel and oil filters just to be on the safe side. It'll take years to clean up the mess in Japan.

It's probably only the Japanese parts that don't break though. Which bits of a Berlingo come from Japan?

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

Hi,
As we understand it the problem revolves around the use of Garrett turbos in a large percentage of PSA's production. These turbos would appear to be sourced from Japan. Nuff said.
Looks as if we will have to wait a bit longer before our Berlingo hits the roads of the UK.
Best wishes,
Jim & Tracey

I think PSA will refuse to assemble Toyota Aygo with engine 384F(he is Citroen C1). Japaneese guys will not produce cheap models, i think so...
Fortunately, I didn't find any japaneese spare parts in my berlingo. One japaneese component (i know) contents in a Lexia diagnistic equipment - Can-mux chip made by Fuji. But as I know Chineese guys cloned this chip and it works fine Smile Globalization, however... Smile

Suppose, Berlingo owners don't have a reason for disturbance.

3rensho.
As German guys calls Opel "Ost-Pollnisches Ersatzteile Lager" (or smth. like this). It's owners can have some problems mit japanisch teile Smile
