remote central locking

Hi again
i have a problem with remote central locking not working..the key opens the door and
Operates the central locking ok but im unable to use the remote.
Its got a new remote key which has been looked at by an auto electrician who deals with recoding keys etc..and he said he cant get it to work and i need a new key???
Is there any other faults it may be ?

Yes, the other thing to check is some key cases seem to bind on the rubber buttons! This effectively depresses one or more buttons all the time and flattens the remote's battery.

You can code in the remote with Lexia, if all else fails. However, even this won't work if it's not the correct type of remote to begin with.

The key is new so batterys should be ok i think...could it be a BSI fault or other electrical issue?

Hi How much did it cost for a new key and re coded and where can I get it done is it only citroen dealers?

Find an auto locksmith in your area and take the car to them so you don't get charged a call out fee and they should be able to code you a normal key or a remote key for a lot less than a citroen dealer.
