Hi everyone
i was wondering if someone could shed a bit light on lexia for me, ive seen the kits you can get from ebay with the software etc..
Am i right in thinking you install it on your laptop and use it as a repair tool etc?
Is is easy to use.
Any advice would be helpful

There is a software component that you install on a laptop and an electronic bit. One end of the electronic bit connects to a laptop usb port and the other end has a connector that connects to a socket that is next to the interior fuse box behind the plastic cover under the steering wheel. With everything connected you can read and clear fault codes, test the various systems and adjust some of the cars parameters. Aside from running diagnostics I've used mine to have the headlights turn on anytime the engine is running and I enabled the 1kw heater resistor so on these nippy mornings I have warm air flowing into the cabin in about 30-45 seconds after starting. Others with a lot more experience will chime in with other capabilities.

Lexia is a powerful diagnostic tool that is able to read any fault code generated by
the vehicle's electronics. It may also be used to reset or alter ECU settings.
It's a tool that a novice should use with caution. It is connected to your car via a laptop
and the diagnostic socket under the dash.
If you go on eBay to buy, only buy from UK suppliers and reckon on paying £80+. There are one
or two excellent sellers in among the dross,

Good point indeed. I was cautioned by pk7478 not to mess with any setting connected with the air bags unless I really knew what I was doing

Haven't seen him on FCF this week either.
In answer to Scotty's question, it is a diagnostic AID. Not a computer program that magically instills years of experience about what a certain noise means, or how effects may "knock on" to create other perceived issues down the track. Handy for programming keys and remotes, configuring BSI modules and reading live data as the motor runs. Beyond that it does come down to intuition and experience.

Blowed if I can find it now but someone in the past few weeks gave an eBay link to a highly recommended seller. The price was higher at about £120 but it also worked with Windows 7 which most on eBay don't

Believe it was Ol'Jeffers. Think the place was called EasyDiagnostics (but don't quote me).
