dies when slowing down

:brickwall: 56 plate 1.9 mine can rev high and come down slowly which i can cope with but mainly when i slow down it has a tendency to die but will restart off the key can also kangaroo a bit ,please help

Try running a GOOD fuel system cleaner through it.

Run it with a double dose of Millers in the tank. If that makes no difference
I would think that you have a problem with the fuel system.
The Older I get the Better I Was!  Cool

+ 1 on the millers

i had a mondeo for a short time (bag of sh1t) and the only way to stop the injectors knocking and the thing kanging on over run was to use millers at x2 dosage.

i always use the stuff in all my motors now - more mpg and runs smoother - but this may just be my imagination :whistle:

Check the flexible fuel pipes for dampness. They can break down/decompose & let air into the system.Go back to the tank,not just the engine bay.
I'm not a fan of Redex.Millers or Forte really work.Millers for constant use & Forte for deep cleaning(not necessary if Millers is used regularly)
