which battery to buy.
#1
hello all, i have a 2004 multispace model, 2.0 HDI, what i would like to run by you all is which battery i should buy, any recommendations , as the other day i went to start the car and it turned over a little then died, i must add it was a rather cold snap we were in, and i hadn't used the car for at least three days, but i charged it up and it started in the morning, it has a view point on it but no indication, just black, hope you can advise, cheers.

The largest Varta/Bosch battery that will fit into the tray!

This is what I use: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-77AH-096-V...%26ps%3D54

A slightly cheaper alternative with a 4 year guarantee:

I'll second the ^^^^^^

Worth checking Ebay for second hand also, I recently bought a one month old battery for my Land Rover and only paid £17 for it.... checking online revealed the cheapest new price was around £85 so with care you can get a bargain.

Keep your old battery and if possible get a few more from the back of the shed / from friends and weigh them in for your financial benefit.... I recently weighed a few in and had £72 for my trouble - eleven batteries in total, eight standard size and three big ones.

I changed our battery last winter. Found since then that the quick release connection is a bit loose when done up. Posted on here about it, but no one seemed to know if it could be adjusted. So looks to me like new battery terminals might be a bit smaller then original battery. Don't have old one to check.

Biggest for the best every time. I had to fit one before Christmas, the one I got was a Banner and it weighed about twice as much as the one I removed despite being a similar size.
So where does this bit go then ?

All standard batt terminals are standard size except those Fordy things. There are special batt applications that have different terminals, but you should not have been sold one of these. What make is yours?

Yes,sorry.I did mean you.I don't know the dimensions of the terminals but if you bought it locally, take it back for a check. You can get the odd duff one.Never heard of Powermax but that doesn't make it bad.As a temp repair a strip of roofing lead cut to suit & put round the terminal will get you out of the brown stuff.
