I totally disagree. If the van carries a load frequently,it should have the correctly rated tyres.
During my working life I saw vans with the sidewalls failing.
These vehicles are driving towards you & me.

They look much better when carrying plenty of weight, stronger in the sidewalls.
Thats the thing mate, I am a plumber so the van ends up with a fair bit of gear in the back - If I only carried light loads in the van I wouldn't be worried but as it does get loaded up I don't want to run into any problems in the event of an accident

I agree, Ron.
If I was fully freighted with 600kg everyday then I would definitely have 90 rated tyres all round. But all I carry is one cardboard box in the back most of the time. The company I work for specify a van for 'security reasons', whatever that means? It's not even anything valuable?
And, Ron, I never travel the A40 (or any other roads) through Monmouth so you are safe!

The c15 was a Visa CDV!
I dont think they'll lock you up Martin but the MOT test has last week become much tougher - "under" rated tyres might not get through.
It even covers stuff like the 12s socket
Thats a concern for me as I only wired my 13pin to suit my needs so Im short of a live feed and technically will fail
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

Back to the point.
Contact your tyre supplier and ask them to fit the correct rating for the van. They can find out easily. Before you settle for ATS or National etc try places like etyres who can arrange mobile fitting at your convenience for similar or cheaper prices. Shop around using the Internet there are some good deals.
National have an internet based company, you can buy from them and arrange delivery and fitting at your local National branch cheaper than they can supply if you just walk in and ask for a price.
I would emphasise that you fit the correct rating - insurance companies will look at any excuse not to pay out after an accident.
Good luck
Peter
