mk3 tuning box ?
#1
hi all,
posted last week about berlingo remapping, not much interest so try another tack me thinks.
berlingo van delivery mileage 75 bhp (my wifey ordered the van):brickwall:
too late to change to 90 bhp.
not sure if remap is the way to go now so has anyone fitted a tuning box to their mk3 berlingo and what improvements have you gained power/economy
the reason i have decided against a remap is i have heard that the service department when servicing scan your map and send it to the mother ship and they can tell if its been altered ?
thanks campers Big Grin

They are available on ebay and I was tempted at one stage.
I contacted an ebay member who had bought one and he replied that the simple plug in design is all but useless as the socket you need is behind the engine and impossible to get at so he sent it back.
Also if you have a serious smash and the vehicle is impounded the insurance assesor or plod investigator would be able to see you've modded (did you declare this???)

A map job would be invisible to anyone without the software.
Im paranoid about blackbox technology reporting back but IMHO the dealers mothership thing (if it were more than speculation)would only be used in the event of a warranty claim.
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

Definately re-map. Quantum Tuning are excellent.

Click on the pic!

Because of the extra torque available the car a Mk.II can now be driven
at 30mph in top and better mpg.
The Older I get the Better I Was!  Cool
