Can anyone recommened a good polish? ive used autoglym(spelling) in the past and found it quite good but pricey...and it requires elbow grease if left to long

LOL, try asking this question at detailing world forum... Any recomendation would set you back £200+ More seriously, polishing does take effort if left too long. Buy a cheap DA buffer and try it with your Autoglum.

AutoExpress rate Turtle Wax ICE synthetic paste best, then Halfords Car Polish got good rating, also. Armor All Shield came third.

I honestly reckon it comes down to a few things:

1. If you don't do it very often, when you do do it, you need to do it longer and harder (innuendo, Ron, for the use of)

2. Suitable polishes vary by amount of ageing/damage to "fix" and whether by hand/machine

3. The total time of a number of more frequent shorter washes (because you kept it clean) is probably on par with the total time of less-frequent, more involved washes (because you let it get dirty)

As a tool and detail whore who polished their Berlingo door hinges in three stages, my further comments and opinions probably don't offer much relevance to an everyday desire for shininess. Wink

I'd say AutoGlym and Sonax I might try Turtle Wax Ice next time.

Autoglym super resin polish if a fantastic product, but it is just that, a polish, it won't remove my scratches. Topped off with AG extra gloss protection it takes some beating for the money.

If you can be arsed!

I'd rate the Autoglym stuff to. In fact all there stuff is good. Not cheap, but good.
