lowering
#1
Hi everyone I am new to this forum
Right I have a berlingo mk1facelift/ mk2 57 plate, I am looking to lower it so that the tires of the wheels I have for it just sit inside the arch they are 205gti 1.9 speedline on 185 55 15 tires I have measured that it will need yo be droped approximately 100mm to 120mm I have serched everywhere for lowering springs to accommodate bit the most I could find is 40mm I have also looked for coilovers but the only ones I could find were close to a £1000 and im just not willing to spend that kind of money. From what ive heared 306 springs should fit but does any one know what size I would need as they are shorter than berlingo springs
I would be very grateful for any help thanks

Thanks for the advice peteA but even know I said I wad looking fot coilovers I was hoping to avoid them as I have had a car fitted wiyh them in the past and with all the shitty roads around here they just seemed a bit too bumpy but I understand that springs give you a slightly smoother ride but thanks again

Your stock shocks will not allow sufficient travel to lower enough to the ride height you want.

Coils are simply that, coils. How hard the suspension is down to the spring rate. You need stiffer springs when you are lower otherwise every bump will see your tyres scraping the arches on turns, or your sump hitting the ground. The TA Technix coilovers I have on my van are perfectly comfortable and were 160 for the set.

Here you go, could get them very cheaply from this guy, Used but never fitted. The rear shocks don't fit, but I haven't had any issue with the standard shocks on the lowered rear of mine.
