I did a bit of research for the benefit of the MK3 forum today -I ran the tank low.
Lower than a low thing in Lowestoft.
Admittedly more by circumstance than design - I got a bleep ,a yellow light under the fuel gauge and a text warning on the trip computer screen "fuel level too low"
The gauge was in the middle of the red sector and the trip computer reported a 42 mile range remaining.
The bleep sounded every five miles or so until I refuelled.
This evening J Sainsbury charged me £79.86 to the first click.
Hopefully that might be of some use to someone
