Alternator/battery dash light on

Occasionally i get this light, tested, really doesnt charge when alt light on.

car has 80K miles.
alternator probably OK.
Been told it could be regulator in the engine bay. Where exactly can i find it.

Most alternators have the regulator inbuilt; on many it can be changed without dismantling the entire unit. There's a choice of OEM and Chinese parts for many electrical repair items.

by expirience, could i just lift car, tuck under and remove the regulator from alternator, or is alt removal obligatory

It is much easier off the car, even when the alternator has an externally accessed regulator. Some cases you cannot replace it without removal. What brand of alternator, and is there a label on it?

Says made in spain also.

It's a Bosch one, the 0124525034 part number is a sign.

Here's one supplier's part listings for this model:

They seem to usually supply aftermarket (non-OEM) parts.

Alternator removed.
But problem is how to split it?
Removed all visible bolts and nuts, except the pulley and small 4 surrounding philipses.
Dont need breaking stuff while rebuilding Smile

while it being pain in the back to remove and install, only faulty regulator was to blame, so a quick fix.
Signs of deterioration were present, but was not aware of.
Alternator light should cut out instantly after start, not with half sec delay. Also it should charge 14.3 - 14.4V measured on battery, mine was 14V prior to fix, maybe less in last days.
Many small problems now fixed. Non perfect starting, occasional erratic idling, power delivery, even though souped to 110hp. But problems showed very subtle, now ok.

Update to the topic.

Renewed alternator lasted less than a year. I got the dash battery warning on again.
When repaired, I used original bosch regulator.

I presume it is toast again.
What should I blame for messing the regulator in such short notice?

solved again.

stator connections to the diode plate got loose.
re pressed and soldered.
