Engine codes - Common faults

im just trying to work out what my engine code is and what are their common faults

Its a P reg berlingo van 1.8 diesel

Any more info on the engine would be great thanks

I think it's a DW 8 or 9.Someone will kick my bum if I'm wrong.
Faults are few & far between on a well maintained engine but valve clearances tend to be neglected leading to reluctant starting.

On the VIN, skip the first five characters, look at the three after that.

For example, mine begins with VF7MCKFX

The sixth to eighth characters (KFX for me) indicate motor type.
