Questions: Repowering Cordless NiMH Tools
#11
Same as Addo, I'm quite happy with a soldering iron (it's my job) and if I can source decent cells, which is half the battle, then it's not a problem to repair these things. The major problem is finding cells at a good price in the UK. If you don't mind waiting then you can get them from China and hope they've got the stated capacity.

I've tried the welder trick on a couple of clapped out batteries and it is a temporary fix, lasted about a fortnight on one before it was back to dying out quickly.
So where does this bit go then ?

It's hard to look the Handy Hero when you're up there screwing something off and only the second fastener is going "Whirrrrrrrrrr...rrrrr....rrrrr.....rwwwwwww...........

Driven by necessity (in turn, fuelled by procrastination :brickwall: ) I piked in the end, and trial ordered a replacement battery that alleges "genuine Panasonic cells". I expect when a free moment presents itself, that I'll be opening it up to verify this information. Rolleyes
