Locked in car, can anyone help please?
#1
Hello all, im new here.

I have just picked up my new car.

Citroen Berlingo Multispace XTR e-HDi 90 Airdream EGS6

However, i have a problem and cant find it in the cars manual as quite a lot of the manual isnt for this particular model. This car is a 2013 registration mobility car.

I have spents ages trying to fathom out how to open the sliding door from the inside back passenger seats to no avail. There are handles that pull up but dont actually do anything, i thought i might beable to do it, unlock it from the drivers seat thinking its possibly on child lock, but still no joy! Ive tried alsorts and they just wont open at all from the inside, the only way i can get the back sliding doors open are from the outside, so if im sat in the back and need to get out, i have to climb into either the drivers seat or front passengers seat, get out of the car and open the back door from the outside.

This cant be right surely ?

Thanks in advance for any help you maybe able to offer Confusedtudy:

Cant offer exact advice as mine is a van ,but the sliding door opens fine from inside whether the door is locked or not.
I have twin rear doors -they do not open from inside.
Perhaps its a dealer issue.....

Do they have a child lock lever on the door, near the lock/catch?
I hope to collect the same model tomorrow or Tuesday, so i'll let you know if same.

As MudFT says sometimes it is operated by the key and is usually inside the door shut near the latch. thats whats on my mk2 anyway.

It's a black push button high up on the handle. Press then slide the door back.

If the rear door child locks are active it should tell you on the central display when you insert the ignition key. Maybe this is different because its a mobility Car?

Open rear passenger door with silver coloured vertical handle halfway up door towards front edge of door. Pull handle back & door will open. sitting in back, handle will be just above & forward of your knee. Child lock switch is square switch next to cigar lighter in front of where gear lever would be if you had one. If child locks are activated there will be a yellow light showing on switch. If still no joy its possible child lock will be stuck on.

I've been messing about with this most of the night. pressed the lock button on the front dash and then pressed them some more, no matter what I try I simply can't get the sliding doors to open from the inside. must have something to do with the child locks but there is no indication that they are on from the front dash. ive even turned the automatic central locking off and still I get locked in from the back, it feels like I'm missing something but can't for the life of me work out what it is.. would have helped if the car manual was more specific to the car model we have but it seems to be general to a number of models..

hopefully its just a new car thing and not a fault with the mechanism

Thankyou for the link to the manual thats sorted it! The manual we have is nothing like this one youve posted, which is the correct car as it has that ignition button, so its worked i can now get out of the car from the back!

Thanks to everyone for your replies and im keeping hold of this manual ! Smile
