Just about to do the following modifications on the Berlingo.
EGR is non-operational and to be honest it runs better without it, so need to cut the lid off the ECU and snip a few wires around those multi-legged spider thingies and reseal. Engine management light will now extinguish along with anything else.... just be careful not to inhale the toxic grey smoke.
What to do with the spare vacuum pipe from the EGR?, well Fords innovated the vacuum windsreen- wiper for early Poplars and Anglias in the 1950’s. Quite a lot of the old stuff has recently been found in a shed on an old airfield in Kent that was used by Ford after the war.
COM2000 unit is inop and wipers have never worked right from day one so I am going to buy a kit comprising the old vacuum wiper unit and fittings to replace the manufacturers OE stuff now fitted.
Kit available from http://www.old-fords-are-shite.com
Kit is advertised as being a direct replacement, all nuts, bolts and baler-twine included.
All looks sooo easy and should be easy to do even by the most mechanically inept, good luck to anyone trying this departure...
