Brake fluid

I topped up the brake fluid today in the Berlingo, I used Comma DOT4 from Asda £3 for 500ml. I never knew until I had topped it up on the back of the bottle it says do not use with Citroën and states other car makes, have I used the wrong fluid?

No, they mean don't mix it with LHM.

DOT4 is the right stuff for your application.

Usually says on the cap to the reservoir,master cylinder...

The 'not Citroen' bit refers to the hydraulic suspension on older cars, I think.

It's no advantage so why bother ? Unless you are draining your old fluid and completely replacing it you are not gaining anything but Super dot 4 is actually higher rated than some cheap dot 5.1 fluids.
