Mystery plug
#1
I have a 57 plate 1.6 HDi van and have removed all the ply lining. On the n/s in between side door and rear wheel arch there is a plug with approx 8 wires. Any ideas?

This is the plug sat on top of the n/s rear wheel arch.

Looks like the intermediate connector for the rear wipers/heated screen/washer, which I assume you don't have? Was it tucked away behind the bulkhead?? Seems like another "universal" Citroen wiring setup to me!!

Correct! None of the above. And was hiding.
Thought might be for rear lights, just fitted tow bar yesterday, not done electrics yet.
Thought couldn't be that easy.... Kit came with scotchloks (nasty, hateful little blue things!)
Is there a better (easier/quicker) way to wire electrics? Need it done for weekend.

All the electrics for a trailer socket can be picked up very easily from the plugs on the back of the light pods
on a Berlingo van.

Just take neat splices off the wiring for TAIL / STOP / INDICATOR / REVERSE
and lead the wiring down to a 7-pin standard trailer socket.

This is fine if only for trailer lights.......Smile

I'm a fan of the solder and heatshrink method...... but scotchlocks are quick and do work most of the timeSmile?

Put electic socket on and fed the wire up behind the lights on n/side. Take it that you can get a feed for all the lights from this side?
Only need it for lights, will be using 240v hook up for caravan when racing.
Which reminds me... must buy a caravan before Easter!!

Had something similar which I found on my old 306, was told that it was for connection to a CD Autochanger unit ???. Never got that far towards finding out what it was actually for.......
