door switch
#1
Hi all! Just bought myself a 2002 Berlingo van. 1.9D. Im pretty happy with what I got for the price and have been fiddling round trying to fix the minor problems it has.
So I notice the drivers side door switch/pin has rusted out. So I thought Id swap the passenger one with the broken one. but upon taking it out you need to diconect the wires. Now they are somewhere in the frame. Ive managed to fing one purple one with a conectoer but cant seem to hook anymore out!!!
I need to know if both wire connecting the switch are purple? and if there are any tricks of finding them. I took the plastic trim off but cant find any easy access!!!

cheers
Rowan

I did exactly the same at the weekend because the interior light didnt come on when the door was open.
I removed the trim inside the footwell and behind that was a big square rubber grommet which the door switch wire (and others) go through.
Pull that out and you should be able to reach though and feed the wire back through the hole.
There was only one wire on the switch (live) as it is earthed through the switch when its screwed onto the bodywork
