Amplifier power cable
#1
Afternoon all. Just a quick one (I hope). I'm fitting an amplifer in to the back of the Lingo. I'm having trouble finding somewhere suitable to feed the power cable from the engine bay to the cabin. Has anyone done this? Its a 2012 van. Thanks.

I know my van is older, but I found the easiest for me was to drill bulkhead & rubber grommet method.
As you look at engine bay I drilled just off centre towards battery. I then ran cable along gearbox tunnel to behind passenger seat.
Good luck.

Theres no easy route from the engine bay on a MK3 but you can take a live feed from the fuses at the glovebox or you may find behind the offside rear load liner panel theres wiring for the optional auxilliary power socket
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

Ive heard taking a 12v from a cig lighter isnt a good idea because of the amps that are drawn by a subwoofer. Im using 0 gauge cable

A cig lighter socket is capable of making a piece of metal glow red hot - thats way more than plenty for a speaker unless you are planning to power glastonbury festival.
Look at the input rating of the amp and choose an appropriate size cable from that.
1.0mm or 1.5 is more than fine but you should put a fuse in at your break in point in any case
It is on my to do list.
