What's this part of the engine called?

I have a 2003 Citroen berlingo van.

There's an oil leak. Next to the head gasket there is a round silver metal/alloy cover. It has a crack in it and oil is seeping out.

Does anyone know what this part is called?

Is it in front of the head, behind it, to the driver's or passenger's side? How wide (inches or cms)? Are there visible bolts holding it on?
