Headlight bulb
#1
How do you change the n/side bulb on a 57 1.6HDi?
O/side one is difficult enough, other side looks like a complete nightmare. There is no way to fit your hand without removing half the electrics.
Wonder how many hours Citroen dealers quote?
Looks quicker to change the clutch, or tile the bathroom...:brickwall:

Casting my mind back, you have a good point. Its ridiculous just for a bulb change. I think its a chapter in Haynes.

I think if you remove intake pipes and fuse box lid, there is just enough room for a small hand. (Wife/ChildSmile)
Did mine in leather gloves to get the cover off the rear of the headlight though,
Will rip you to shreds otherwise!!

Our bathroom needs tiling - feel free to pop round and I'll change the lamp bulb while you're at it!!!

You're on!
Tiling looks much easier than n/side bulb, although it hasn't actually blown yet.
Working myself up to the job.
Might fit a pair of Nightbreaker Plus bulbs as had good reports on the Forum.
Also like the idea (thanks, Adam) of employing small (vertically challenged) people to do fiddly jobs. Is there an Employment Agency for them?
If not.......

But it will break.
And it will be raining.
And dark.
And frosty.
Would rather change them both now.
While it is warm.
And sunny.

Or should I make another cup of tea?

Did mine t'other day an' it's a right bugger. It's about as much fun as performing your own testicular surgery with a hole punch and a 100 watt soldering iron.

I took off the top grille, undid the two accessible headlamp screws and unclipped the top mounting from the body bracket and pulled the headlamp unit as far forward as I could.

That gave me room enough (only just) to get the cap off and change the headlamp bulb and the parking light bulb.

Changed sidelight bulb.
After a month it blew.
Changed it again.
Now changed headlight bulbs for Osram Nightbreaker Plus.
They make loads of difference.
Getting pretty good at it now. (About 20mins instead of an afternoon!)
