my first van.....
#1
Hi All,

Just about to start up my own business which means i need to buy my first van!

The Berlingo seems to be the van of choice, and I've got my eye on a 07 1.6 HDI. These vans look well rounded, reliable and ideal for what I need it for.

Now I need to research this site for details of the weak points and cam belt change details for this van, which I assume is the mkII version.

Many thanks,

shakey

Hi Shakey & welcome. It is a mk11.The most important thing on an HDi is good quality clean oil.Change @ 1/2 recommended intervals to keep the turbo happy & in 1 piece.Give the whole vehicle a good birthday incl change ALL oils & fluids.Good luck.:thumbsup:

The biggest disadvantage with the van is the stupid amount of insurance most companies charge!
If you went for a MultiSpace Forte you will still have much the same space but without the heavy
premium.

Thanks for the replies guys, however after looking at what can only be described as "sheds", I've decided to buy new. So Berlingo L1 Enterprise 850 hdi 90 here we come....job done

I'm use to group 20 cars, so I'm sure I can take the cost of a van...!? Anyone care to advise a good van insurance co for a 41yr old based in the south with 9 years no claims and 3 points(costly but spirited GTR driving!).

Thank you.

I wouldn't say my insurance is a stupid amount, £300 a year for business insurance.
