What has BEEN in your garage?
#1
Following on from what else is in your garage?, and what would you like in your garage?, I thought it only right to complete the set with a look backwards.

So, in no particular order, here is a selection of now departed cars that I have owned in the past.

Audi Coupe Quattro 2.2

Not sure why the title has appeared twice at the top of the post? Andre, perhaps you could have a look and fix it?

Me too :'(

Mine was an ex challenge car that my brother had raced for a season from new and had survived relatively intact. It was the 1.4 K series but engine built by Minister so around 140-145bhp. 5 speed box, LSD, competition exhaust and sticky Avons made for a lot of fun Big Grin

My list is rather prosaic compared to the above.

1969 VW Bug bought new in 1969 after I got back from Vietnam. After 200K miles rebuilt the engine on Christmas break in grad school. Sold to friend in 1981 and he's put 500K miles on it since.

Then a 1981 Toyota long bed pickup. Sold it in 1992.

Moved to Europe and bought a 1992 Nissan Sunny GTI and drove it until it rusted out last year and then got my present Berli.
2010 Berlingo Multispace HDi 110 with FAP.  Persamos green.

Had a white 2ltr laser Capri.
And have never lived in Essex!
Had a TR7 convertible recently.
Not sure what that says about me??
Oh yes, bad taste in cars.
Until recently, of course.:woop:

I had a string of Fiat Uno's before seeing the light (& having 2 B great dogs) & buying a C15 van. That was a great machine, the only thing against it was it's top speed. But I drove it with hare & tortoise in mind. It's still going with over 200,000 miles & no trouble at all.But the Berlingo is luxury after that.

Nothing special, last car i had was a peugeot 407 2.0hdi 136bhp, quick, good on fuel, very comfortable but unbelievably unreliable, other cars in no particular order;

Astra van 1.7DTI
Astra 1.6 16V
Fiat punto 1.9JTD
Peugeot 406 2.0 16v
Suzuki swift 1.0 3cylinder, not very quick but really good on petrol and in 5 years it never let me down
Fiat cinqucento 900cc, surprisingly good car, 55mpg, comfy, very roomy in the front, not so much in the back and a piece of cake to park, you could drive it into spots you couldn't reverse a normal sized car in to.

Had a mini when I was 19, it rusted just about everywhere, it was slow and being six foot tall I had to alter the seat mountings to move the seat further back to make it mor comfortable to drive.

I'm 5'11" and I had to have the seat right back on mine to drive it - got rid of it as it had a fault where everything would stop working except for the headlights

probably the fuse box, they were under the bonnet and were prone to corrosion, they only had 4 fuses in them!!
