Horn fault
#1
Hi!

I wondered if anyone could give me a little bit of help please?

I have a Mk11 2005 Berlingo MultiSpace 1.9D that has 2 odd little electrical faults...

When the ignition is off, the horn will work as normal but when the car is running or ignition is on the horn won't work.

Also, when indicating right, the indicator flash pattern is erratic.

Thanks in advance
Steve

common fault has happened to 2 berlingos that i have owned
remove the airbag from steering wheel, has spring clips holding it on just pop a little screwdriver in the holes on the rear and release the clips
then you will see a black wire with a spade terminal connected to the steering wheel, unplug the wire and connect a ring connector then drill a tiny hole into the metal of steering wheel then using a self tapping screw connect the black wire, this make a better earth connection and has worked twice for me

indicator erratic flash is more than likely a wrong bulb or blown bulb or the flasher relay

Thank you chaps!
I have done as you both suggested and we have success!
Horn is now working, think the indicator fault maybe down to a faulty relay so will have to find that one and try it.
Nice easy little fix on a sunny Saturday.
Your help and advice is very gratefully received, thanks.
