Sill Protectors '05 Berlingo
#1
Has anyone found a good source for sill protectors. My wife has a habit of dragging her heels (ooooh) over the sill and damaging the paint! Something like a stainless steel stick on trim would be fine. I've checked e*ay but not seen anything suitable. cheers bigsacs

Halfords sell generic ones, I picked up some "Ripspeed" branded ones quite cheaply and used them with good effect (though in my case its kids with boots that cause the damage) I also fitted some checker plate over the rear bumper top, but then I live near a metal workshop so its easy and cheap to pick up offcuts (secure in place with double sided no nails outdoor tape).

Be great to see a pic of the plate over the rear bumper,i was thinking of buying one off ebay (plastic)for £40 but the plate seems a good idea.

I have had a trawl through my jpg files but cant find any of my (departed) bling from the rear after I fitted the bumper top.
Basically I measured and made a template out of wallpaper then went across the road to the local wrought iron blacksmiths who had chequerplate in stock and sought out an off-cut long enough - for £20 he found me a bit and chopped it to size.
Some work with a file to chamfer the edges and use of the double sided no nails had the bumper top protected from kids with wellies and hiking boots clambering in the back to get changed / get bikes / get out of the rain etc.

Richbrook sell a "universal" set which I guess you trim to size (I have not seen or used them personally) for £30

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

That has got to be a better solution that cutting and chopping something to try to get it to fit. Can you post a photo once fitted?

Alas the puny specimens produced by the citroen dealer were of no use. They were about 3cm wide and made of very thin plastic. Quite useless so the search goes on! I saw some on e*ay for the C4 which look as if they might be of use. cheers bigsacs
