Newbie with a van - PAS retrofit?

Afternoon all!

I recently impulse-bought a Mk1 1.9D van from eBay for buttons, with the intention of putting it into service but spending as little as possible in the process.

That's obviously gone out the window already, so I've got two questions for the collective:

1. Which engine is this?

2. It doesn't have PAS, and I'd like it to. Would retrofitting it be a case of sourcing a PAS rack, pump, fluid tank and suitable drive belt, or is there more to it?

3. (I know, two questions becomes three all too easily) If I end up keeping it, how much is involved in dropping a 306 GTi / Xsara VTS lump in? Mine's a '99 reg.

Its a DW8 engine . Not sure on the other questions ...

best source of pas parts is a donor vehicle in a scrap yard... or leave as is and build some biceps.

have you got any insurance quotes for the engine swop? ive done transplants in the past but imho now its just not worth the hassle.
