How the :censored: do you get the gear knob off??? The Haynes joke book says "twist & pull the gear knob off the gear lever". Yeah, right! :brickwall:
I´ve twisted, pulled, screwed, twisted & pulled again but although I can get it to rotate it will not come off the gear lever :brickwall:
Oh............ & I broke the top bit too :censored:

If you have broke it anyway, then out with the junior hack-saw.
Did that with my Clio.
Saw cut down each side roughly where you think the shaft is.
Worked a treat.
Cheap aluminium replacement off eBay.

Over 25,000 of them on e-bay at present so you should be able to get one at the right price.
Really though, you need the ones with six speeds and reverse just to give you the extra edge and to totally confuse anyone else who drives your motor

It´s off! I had to hacksaw it then get the rest off with pliers. New gear knob now fitted - her first bit of "bling".
