Oil change
#1
Just got a 2010 Berlingo Multispace HDi 110 a couple of weeks ago and plan to change the oil and filter after the first 2500km. Have not been able to locate the oil filter. Can anyone let me know where it is hiding? Thanks in advance. Huh

Ed. Forgot to add that this is a left hand drive version

Please. Tell us model of engine? 9HV or 9HZ? See VIN of your car.

Many thanks for the information. I'll have another look.

Ed. Found it right off the bat. Wasn't expecting something like that.

Can anyone offer any tips/tricks for changing the oil filter? I want to avoid getting oil all over the engine compartment when I change the filter. Does the oil filter housing drain itself when the oil is drained from the crank case? Thanks in advance.

Have you ever replaced engine oil iby itself on other cars?

Yes, for many decades. The cars I've owned however always had the one piece metal can type filters and not a replaceable filter element inside the engine. Unscrew the old one (rag under it if horizontally mounted) and screw on the new one. 90 second operation. So, in my present case any tips or tricks???

Tips and tricks:
1. As I understand, this is a Purflux filter. On a plastic cap you can read tightening torque.
2. Before taking off a plastic cap, put around filter's housing a paper towel.
3. To remove all oil from filter's howsing you should use medical syringe with a thin pipe.

Thanks for the quick response. I saw the torque (25nm) on the cap and I'll make sure I have a rag around the area. Thanks again.
