hiya lads , had my van since xmas ,this week its started zappin me when get out and grab the door
any ideas how to stop this grimmace inducing episode

You could carry a spoon or anything metal in your pocket and then touch the car with that first before you grab it with your hand. The spoon would get zapped and not you.

Be aware of what clothing you are wearing when this takes place. For instance I have one pair of boots that will guarantee a shock on exiting the vehicle every time I wear them, no matter what other clothing I have on. None of my other footwear does this.
You can also try holding a metal part of the vehicle as you get out, grabbing it before your feet touch the ground and continuing to hold on until you are ready to close the door.
