Roof bar and fittings buying help for Berlingo Desire 06
#1
I am trying to buy some roof bar fittings for a Berlingo Desire 06.

It has a Modutop roof complete with rails but I need to use the mounting slot/plates on the bodywork itself as the Modutop rails are not suitable for a largish roof box full of camping gear.
I already have square section roof bars for the roof box so really would just need mounting brackets for four of the six slot/plates but would buy new bars if need be.

I am at a complete loss where to buy what I need after spending a fruitless afternoon following up threads here, Googling and eBaying.

Even Halfords are very vague about what they can supply.

The webpage for Aiko Design had an enquiry page so I filled that in but it just seemed to reset when I pressed submit. I'll give it a few days and see if they reply. Their product selector and eBay pages just seem to have generic images and little info on what you are selecting or viewing.

Can anyone supply any pointers to a good supplier for these specific mounting brackets and bars?

Cheers.

hi i have a 04 Berlingo Desire which has the Modutop rails . i brought my rails s/h and the chap said that he brought them for a citeron picasso from halfords. they fit fine and clear the rail fitted to the roof fine. the berlingo roof is fitted with 3 squarish boxes on either side of the roof where the rack fits into. good luck.

Thanks landcrab.

The ones that are on Halfords now are unfortunately way over priced or designed to clamp on to door openings.

I've had another look at the AIKO site and the ZS207 set could be ideal.
They also sell them on eBay for a couple of quid cheaper at £53.00 inc. VAT and delivery.

hi looking at the ebay pic these dont look to be the right bars. they look more like van bars. you better check the fittings out as i dont know if the van has differant fittings they look like they bolt onto the roof.as i said mine have a male fitting that slots into a small box slot which is welded to the roof.

The van and car mounts are the same ,needing a two part bracket that clamps onto the roof 'tabs'
Aiko's photo's are generic - just specify the age of the vehicle (upto 2008)and you will get the correct fitment.
Alternativly give the head honcho an email -very decent chap from my dealings with him.

I had Aiko's on my 2007 van -superb kit immensly strong and I sold them for little less than I paid for them three years previously
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

Thanks evdama and shedpete,

I've ordered the "ZS207 Berlingo ~ Partner Roof rack bars up to 08" from the AIKO eBay page Cool

Hi Landcrab, Yes the pics are unfortunately a bit vague but I've been convinced that the parts supplied will be the correct ones to fit the slot/plates on the roof.

Thanks again,
