How do you block off the EGR without causing the engine management computer from throwing a wobbly?

Block off plate between valve and manifold.
Can be got on EBAY, or from Peugeot themselves.

The car wont know its blocked off, so long as you leave the electric connector on the valve.

Is this really the case? My 04 plate 2.0 HDi with Siemens injection throws a wobbly and an EML after a while of driving with it blanked.

Few of my mates have 1.6 hdi's and change their oil every 5 to 7k, use 5w30 and always flush. They also let the engine idle from cold before setting off and then again before they switch off.

So far non of them have had any turbo problems even though there is one mate with 150k on the clock.

prevention is the name of the game

Ok, guys, took a few pics for you all this morning, they are of a Pug 307, with a 1.6 hdi which is essentially the same as the Berlingo in the engine dept. You may find these interesting or helpful

This is the DPF removed, see the pipes & temp probe, the non DPF model is just a cat and doesn't look much different tbh

This is the hole where the Turbo & dpf lived

Banjo bolt fitted in the block , completely inaccessible with the DPF in place

Just out of interest, this was the worst 1.6HDI contamination case we ever had . This picture is of the oil pick up in the sump.

This is what it looks like after cleaning
