As the original post is in the Mk2 section, is this gauze also present on Mk3's?

If it is, should it be removed?

My lingo is an ex Mobility car, which from the full service history, has only had the oil changed every 12000 miles

I intend to start changing it every 6000 from now on, but I'm worried that if this gauze is present, that the 12000 mile services may mean that it is partially blocked

I believe that all Berlingos have the gauze & the general concensus is to remove it & shorten oil change intervals.
