ECU prt numbers?

Which numbers must match for the ECU to be compatible?

My Magneti Marelli ECU has this:

1AW 1AP.40
Then what looks like a serial an 029 97 (production week/lot and year?)
Further down it says
16315.114
And below that, with a barcode,
9628993580 E 12V=

That's an MM 1AW, version 1AP.40

Produced 29th day of 1997

The "96" number is an old internal PSA reference number. Your other number may be an initial software/firmware in-house identifier.

As your application is so basic, I'd suspect all that's needed to match is the 1AP... part. Matching the PSA identifiers would also offer surety.

Be aware that some versions may have a chipped key immobiliser.
