rear windows rattle
#1
Hi berlingo members,

My 07 Partner has this rear windows rattle on uneven surface. When I tighten the torx screws it almost disappears for ~2 weeks and then comes back. The bolts are not really loose. The rattle seems a bit metallic as if the windows are leaning on the metal parts of the bolts. The latches seem tight in place. Should I unscrew them and see if the bolts are touching the windows or should I perhaps replace the rubber washers.

Many thanks for any help if you have encountered this before.

Solved the rear windows rattle/noise.
The original rubber washer for the 3 screws on each window seemed rather flimsy. Replaced with a more substantial rubber washer, see pictures. I did not buy specific new washers, but rather cut a rubber ball into washer shape. The black washer is the original one and mine is pretty obvious.

Pretty quiet in the car now.

A space rocket from a washing up liquid bottle or a super duper disintegrator raygun from a sink plunger ? Please tell, the suspense is killing me Big Grin

Just realised it's going to be a rubber washer from a ball isn't it ? Now I'm just a little bit disappointed Sad
So where does this bit go then ?

Unfortunately the washer did not quite work, but nevertheless found a solution.

The problem, as far as I managed to see comes from the window itself leaning on the metal bit of the square bold. Hence, over uneven surface the window produces this noise because it is scraping on metal.

The solution is to put rubber washer in the window hole covering the square part of the bolt.

Hope it helps someone.
