HELP GEAR BOX SOUNDS LIKE FAN BELT SQUEEL AND JUDERING BAD

HI my gear has started making a high pitch noise when the clutch is pressed, when you go to pull of the its juddering the whole van
any help would be needed before i but new box and problem could still be there ?????

The squealing is probably the release bearing on the clutch and it sounds as if your clutch could also be worn out.

it was fine coming from work parked up for 10 mins went out then it started its all come on straight away not a problem thats een getting worse over the weeks all in 5 mins and now to bad to drive. thanks for reply

Sounds exactly like my symptoms. If it is the same as my symptoms then it will be the release bearing. See here: http://www.berlingoforum.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=322
I suggest you do not drive the vehicle as when the release bearing lets go you'll be stuffed by the side of the road. With the vehicle in neutral, handbrake on and engine running look at the clutch release arm in the side of the gearbox and see if it is chattering, if it is I'll bet its the knackered release bearing jumping around on the gearbox input shaft. looks like a busy day for me tommorow lets hope its not a hard job thanks for reply may still need a box as 3rd gear sometimes crunches. is it a hard job too change release bearing

Id put a whole clutch kit in it - juddering whilst taking up drive can also be a characteristic of a knackered friction plate
