help regarding foot pack, fitting kit and roof bars
#1
Hi, I have some extra wide thule roof bars and would like to fit them to my 2006 berlingo using a foot pack that allows the bars to pass past the fitting point. This would mean that they would fit by way of clamping around the bar rather than from just underneath as per the rapid fit system. Does anyone know the thule part numbers for a foot pack and fitting kit to allow me to do this even if they are no longer currently available, perhaps I can get them off ebay or somewhere. My intention is to carry an open canoe and narrow top box together ?

I know this is an old thread but its exactly what I'm trying to find out too!

Did you ever find a solution using Thule bars? The widest bar I could find that would fit is 127cm (see this page at roofbox.co.uk) The only way I could see of fitting a wider bar would be to cut the attachment slot underneath a wider set of bars somehow - I'm not sure I could do this neatly enough, and I think it would weaken the bars.

I want to carry up to 4 kayaks on the roof of a mk 1 and thought I'd found the solution on ebay 131099920811 Its a sturdy looking set of feet with extra wide 1500mm bars.

The compatibility chart says they are suitable for "Citroen Berlingo 2002 M_ [1996-2008] Box 1.9 D" (I take it this is a van) but NOT "Berlingo 2002 MF [1996-2013] MPV 1.9 D" (I presume this is the multispace.

Does anyone know the difference in roofrack fittings between a 2002 multispace and a van? Is it right that this van rack wouldn't fit a multispace?

I cut my thule aero bars about 1.5" both sides along the channel cut out on the under side, they were fine and I was carrying big double ladders for work, it wasn't the neatest but most of it was covered by the foot pack and barely noticable
