Fault code app
#1
Thinking of getting an OBD app for my smart (?) phone.
As many of you know I am more used to working/racing big V8s from the 60s & 70s, so am not familiar with the electronic witchcraft on modern engines.
So....
What do I need, what connects where, what cable do I purchase, how much will it cost, what can I break?
Answers on a postcard, or in the white box below.

It won't get very much useful info from your PSA cars at all. Probably more popular with the fishing types, as you will get the odd red herring thrown in.

Can't you build us a Blingo with full ladder chassis, wheelie bars and a stroked 460?

I use an app called Torque Pro and like it. Aside from that you need to get an OBD II bluetooth adapter. The adapter plugs into the ECU socket under the steering wheel and then talks to your smart phone via bluetooth. Not an expensive item either. Works a treat.

Doesn't work with older Berlingos.

No! Not at all, unless you want it to give you some meaningful results and won't write to your ECU!! Big Grin
