So I moved to France and went for a CT (french mot equiv)
The berlingos failed on sidelights.... god knows why as they look like they work for me!
Can anyone confirm that the sidelights are in the headlight bulbs and rear lights?
and also
Do they test sidelights when the light stalk is on dipped headlights or the setting before that?
Which fuse to check ect?

Would presume the click before the dipped headlights, but no idea what their actual procedure is. Sidelights should remain on with dipped (or full beam) headlights too AFAIK.
Incidentally is the translation definitely correct? Don't suppose 'sidelights' could possibly mean the indicator repeaters on the side of the vehicle just behind the front wheels? Don't recall if they need yellow bulbs but could conceivably fail if not looking yellow enough even if nominally working.

Have they failed it and then fixed it or just failed it?
The bulbs are all within the main lamp clusters front and rear.
Its irrelevent what position the lamp switch is at but its easier to see if the sidelamps are working in the first position.
If all bulbs are lit then fuse hunting is futile.
Do the lamps flicker under road or engine vibration or by thumping the lenses?
Are the bulbs standard 5 watt rated-you could have encountered a jobsworth with a regulations book.
If its going to be youre chosen garage (or you have no other choice locally) it might be better to take this one on the chin
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

Just been having a fiddle and seen that the bulbs are blackened probably from age and heat so I've replaced them and I'll go back and see what they rekon!
Thanks for your help - they are apparently jobs worths but at least its only every 2 years!
