Splitting the AC Box
#1
I've eyeballed the diagrams and it looks very similar to a Xantia.

What I want to do, is remove the heater section of the heater box for cleaning/decrudding, and also split the evaporator box in-situ (to avoid degassing the airconditioning).

Has anyone tried such an adventure? :o

OK, splitting the heater box isn't too hard. Once the heater half is loose from the centre tunnel and firewall, there's only the two 10mm head bolts to wind out and a small goldy-coloured Phillips head screw. Flick the wiring AC harness out your way and all is well.

A fiver for anyone who can spot my 13mm combi Teng spanner in the photo - I can't find it. Sad

Splitting the AC section top-bottom is an unknown as of now. It's going to be tight!

What really annoyed me was observing the carpet is under everything. I have to clean the carpet as it's saturated with coolant and grime, so everything has to come out for the job...
