Fuel filter pipe

Hi to all fellow berlingo owners
I have had my 07 berlingo 1.6hdi for about 2 months and have been doing various jobs to keep it running ok,full service, heater plugs change etc.however i have came across a pipe coming out of the bottom of the fuel filter,a clearish pipe about 600/700mm long which hangs down in the engine which i assumed was possibly an over spill pipe but im confused by the end of the pipe which has a kink at the end and is stretched like it has been connected to something i searched for answers to this butto no avail could anybody shed any light on this thanks

Is it not the drain pipe for water from the fuel filter . when used it stops the fuel/water mix from running down the side off the engine block, which can cause smells of leaking fuel

Yup, it'll be connected to the water drain on the fuel filter housing, nothing to be concerned about.
