Power steering failure.

Just on the second to last corner before home at about 10mph wifey stops dead on the corner. Smatter love? I asked. It won't turn she said.

I jumped in the driver seat, sure enough, no power steering. Managed to get it home, strong smell of hydraulic fluid and a nice puddle forming underneath.

It's under warranty so no drama about cost (unless the try to worm out of it) had a quick look under the bonnet and fluid is sprayed all around the pipe work and steering box so hard to tell where it's coming from.

Any common failure points? It's a 2006 1.6 petrol.

It's just a pipe burst at a union going into the rack. Should be an easy fix for them.

Well, it wasn't covered under warranty, I double checked with the warranty company. Hoses, pipes and unions aren't covered. :brickwall:

What does surprise me is that the total bill, including labour, parts and power steering fluid came to only £85 including vat. :thumbsup:
